Birch Lane Notes keeps your notes so that they are on every device you use. That is the only reason we store anything, and we try to store as little as possible.
What we store
Your account email, a hash of your password, and your notes with their attachments. Notes and attachments are encrypted at rest. We also keep the list of devices signed in to your account, so you can sign them out.
Server logs
Our servers log the IP address, time and address of each request. The logs help us find faults and stop abuse, and are deleted after 14 days.
What we do not do
No advertising, no analytics or tracking scripts, no selling or sharing of data. We do not read your notes. A note is shared with someone else only when you share it yourself.
Where your data lives
On servers in the European Union. Backups are encrypted and kept for 30 days.
Deleting your account
Delete the account from the app settings. Your notes are removed at once, and the remaining copies disappear from backups within 30 days.
Changes
If this page changes in a way that matters, we will tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
